Qualified and licensed to practice before the Courts of New York, 1991. Admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, 1995 and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, 1998.
Experience
Mr. Cirone has significant experience defending insureds under their commercial general liability policies in cases involving construction accidents and Labor Law violations, property damage, premises liability, lead-based paint exposure and general negligence. This practice also involves litigating breach of contract, contractual indemnification and failure to procure insurance claims. Mr. Cirone has also represented insurers as both plaintiffs and defendants in declaratory judgment actions in state and federal courts in New York. He has litigated cases in coverage disputes involving late notice/late-disclaimer issues, priority of coverage and the enforceability of various exclusions. Mr. Cirone is also a skilled appellate attorney having argued cases before the Appellate Division and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. At the beginning of his career, Mr. Cirone was an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office under Robert M. Morgenthau. He was assigned to a trial bureau and conducted grand jury presentations and hearings and tried numerous cases before juries.
